1.    Liver Surgery: 

Liver resections –for Benign and Malignant liver tumors, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Metastatic tumors, Cholangio carcinoma, Hepatoblastoma (in children), Hepatic Benign conditions like Haemangioma, Hepatic Adenoma. Hepatic stones ( Hepatolithiasis)Hepatic cyts, etc. Treatment of Hepatic Injury (Hepatic Resections) and other management strategies. The procedures are performed both by open & laparoscopic Procedure

Gall bladder cancer Surgery:  Extended Radical Cholecystectomy, Lymphadenectomy , Biliary Reconstructions, Skeletanization of hepatoduodenal ligament etc. Gall stones surgery: Cholecystectomy (Laparoscopic & open procedure)

Biliary Reconstructions:  for Bile duct injury, Bile stricture, Bile duct stone, Bile duct cancer. Biliary fistula etc.  

4.      Pancreatic Surgery:

Pancreas cancer surgery: Whipple’s procedure, mid & distal pancreatectomy. Pancreatic stone surgery: Pancreatlitotomy & pancreatojejunostomy, Pancreatic necrosectomy.

 Liver transplant Services:

Dept. of Hepatobiliary pancreatic Surgery take care of the end stage Liver disease (Cirrhotic) Patients. Provide pretransplant & post-transplant patient care.

Pretransplant care: Select those (recipient) needing Liver transplant. Prepare, perform   Imaging and other tests. and treat the comorbidities. Performs donor selection & preparations.

Many end stage liver disease patients under gone successful liver transplants in home and abroad after evaluation and counseling by the team of Hepatobiliary pancreatic Surgery services of BRB Hospitals ltd.

Post transplant care: Provide care and manage complications of post-transplant patients, who received transplantation in home and abroad.

 Training & development of manpower:

Continuous Hepatobiliary pancreatic Surgery services of many years ( 26 yrs) under the guidance of Prof. Mohammad Ali, the chief Hepatobiliary pancreatic Surgeon have led to the development of many trained Hepatobiliary pancreatic  surgeons of Bangladesh. They are working in this institute independently and also providing Hepatobiliary Pancreatic surgery services of other academic institutes in different categories including head of the Departments.

·         Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD): Narrowed arteries reducing blood flow to the limbs.
